What we are

A curated space for ESEA founders.

ESEA Marketplace is a curated online platform for ESEA-owned businesses, products and services across the UK - from makers and independent brands to creatives and professional services.

Every business here is ESEA-owned. Every purchase supports a real founder.

Curated matters. It helps brilliant businesses get seen - and helps shoppers buy with confidence.

Why this exists

ESEA communities have shaped British culture for generations - through food, fashion, art, music and business. Yet the talent behind that culture remains underrepresented, undiscovered and under-resourced.

ESEA Marketplace exists to change that - practically. More visibility, more customers, a platform that feels like ours.

Who it's for

For shoppers, founders, and allies.

  • ESEA Shoppers

You want to support community businesses - or simply find great products and services. Browse with confidence; every business is ESEA-owned.

  • Non-ESEA Allies

You love ESEA food, design, craft, culture, and talent - and want to buy in a way that supports founders directly, not just large platforms.

  • ESEA Founders

You want visibility, sales, and community without having to shout into the void. List your business and reach customers who are already looking for you.

Our values

What we stand for.

Representation with substance

Not tokenism. Every decision we make is grounded in genuine community benefit.

Community-first, founder-led

Built by and for the community - not imposed on it.

Quality and care

Curation over clutter. We'd rather feature fewer businesses brilliantly than many businesses badly.

Cultural celebration + honest conversations

We celebrate ESEA culture while holding space for the harder conversations too.

Access

Clear information, fair opportunities, and fewer barriers - for founders and shoppers alike.

What "ESEA" means here

An inclusive definition.

In the UK, "ESEA" is widely used as an umbrella term for people who identify with East and Southeast Asian cultures and ethnicities — especially in a context where "Asian" often defaults to meaning South Asian.

We aim to be inclusive across the full breadth of communities connected to East and Southeast Asia, and the diasporas connected to them across the UK.

Communities we include

Brunei Cambodia China Timor-Leste Hong Kong Indonesia Japan North Korea South Korea Laos Malaysia Mongolia Myanmar Philippines Singapore Taiwan Thailand Vietnam + diasporas

Meet the founder

Hannah-Natalie Hosanee

I created ESEA Marketplace to build visibility, opportunity, and community for ESEA founders in the UK - and to make it easier to discover and support ESEA businesses in one place.

I’ve spent over 20 years helping organisations clarify their voice, strengthen their positioning, and grow. I understand what it takes for businesses to be seen - and how often talented founders struggle simply because they aren’t being found.

Alongside my consultancy work, I’ve been involved in ESEA leadership and cultural initiatives, and I co-founded Little Yellow Rice Co to celebrate Peranakan and Malaysian heritage through food. Community and commerce have always been closely linked in my work.

This platform brings that experience together in a focused way - creating space for ESEA businesses to be visible, credible, and easier to find.
